Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of the website and online booking of The Yard Baseball (dba The Yard) ("The Yard", "we", "us"), and to sessions, lessons, clinics, memberships and other services at our facility. By creating an account, booking or using the facility, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1.Accounts

You must be 18 or older to create an account. A parent or legal guardian creates and manages the account for any player under 18, and accepts these Terms on their behalf.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private, for everything done through your account, and for keeping your information and your players' information accurate. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.

2.Bookings and payments

  • Prices are shown when you book and may change from time to time. The price shown when you confirm is the price you pay.
  • Online bookings are paid when you book, by card through our payment processor, Square, or with account credit. For a repeating series, each session is charged separately and a card may be saved to pay for them.
  • Bookings made at the front desk may be paid at the facility.
  • A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation.
  • Coach assignments may change if a coach is unavailable; we will let you know.
  • Account credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred to another account, and is used automatically at checkout.

3.Cancellations, late cancellations and no-shows

  • You may cancel a booking for free up to 24 hours before it starts.
  • A cancellation less than 24 hours before the start is a late cancellation. The payment is not refunded; it is kept as account credit.
  • The third late cancellation within any 90-day period is forfeited and not kept as credit.
  • A session you miss without cancelling (a no-show) is not refunded.
  • If we cancel a session (for example, for a facility issue or coach illness), you will receive a full refund or account credit.
  • We may make exceptions at our discretion.

4.Memberships

Where offered, memberships renew automatically each month and are charged on the billing date until cancelled. Each membership includes the sessions described when you join; unused sessions do not roll over unless we say otherwise. You may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period; we do not give partial refunds for unused time unless required by law. If a renewal payment fails, we may pause the membership until it is paid.

5.Waivers and safety

Baseball, softball and strength training involve a risk of injury. Every participant must have a signed release and waiver, client handbook and concussion protocol on file before using the facility. A parent or legal guardian signs for anyone under 18.

Participants must follow staff instructions and posted rules, use equipment only as intended, wear appropriate clothing and protective gear, and tell a coach about any injury, illness or medical condition that may affect training. We may stop any activity we think is unsafe.

6.Facility rules and conduct

Everyone at The Yard is expected to be respectful to players, families, coaches and staff. We may refuse service, end a session, or suspend or close an account for unsafe, abusive or disruptive behavior, damage to property, or breach of these Terms, without a refund where the breach caused it.

Children under 12 must be supervised by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult when not in a session with a coach. You are responsible for any damage you or your players cause beyond normal wear and tear.

7.Coaching, scouting reports and stats

Coaching advice, scouting reports, drills, assessments and test results are for training purposes only. They are not medical advice and do not guarantee any result, roster spot, scholarship or level of play. Talk to a doctor before starting a new training program, and stop and seek medical help if you feel pain or are injured.

Scouting report emails may be drafted with the help of an AI tool from the coach's notes; a coach reviews every report before it is sent.

8.Photos, video and content

We may record sessions on video for coaching and may take photos and video at the facility as described in our waiver. Training video and reports we provide are for your personal use.

The website, our logos, training materials and content belong to The Yard or its licensors. You may not copy, sell or republish them without our written permission.

9.Using the website

You agree not to misuse the website, including by trying to access accounts or data that are not yours, interfering with its operation, booking sessions you do not intend to use, or using automated tools to scrape it. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the website at any time. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

10.Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Our website and services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.

To the fullest extent the law allows, The Yard and its owners, staff and coaches are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking or membership the claim relates to. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New York law, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

You agree to indemnify The Yard against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of our services. Your signed waiver also applies.

11.Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and significant changes will apply to bookings made after they are posted.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Nassau County, New York. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
